The Netherlands is a top destination for international students, but what happens after graduation? Many international students choose to stay in the Netherlands to work due to the attractive career opportunities and high standard of living. The country offers a ‘search year’ to recent graduates, giving them a year to find employment or start a business.

The Dutch education system is closely linked to the labor market, making the transition from study to work often seamless. Sectors such as engineering, IT, and healthcare are constantly in search of fresh talent. With initiatives like Dutch Jobs, international students are supported in this transition, with assistance in finding suitable jobs and support where needed.
